REPAT BAPTISMS: Last month’s Southern Cross story on the future of the heritage-listed chapel at the Repatriation
General Hospital stated there had been one baptism in the chapel but reader Marie-Ann Ellis points out that there was
at least one other baptism in the chapel. Her daughter Catherine was baptised in the Repat Hospital Chapel on
August 24, 2008 by Father Anthony Kain. At the time she was a patient in the rehabilitation ward following an
exacerbation of her multiple sclerosis after Catherine’s birth in April that year. Last year, Catherine completed her
sacraments of initiation in the Glenelg parish.
The 40th anniversary of the Italian festival
Carnevale will be held at the Adelaide
Showgrounds on Feburary 6 and 7.
This year’s event will include the screening of
the Australian film They’re a Weird Mob starring
Walter Chairi as the “new Australian” Nino
Culotta. This year’s Carnevale will also introduce
fencing demonstrations, mozzarella stretching
workshops, wine seminars and a Zeppole eating

the Vicar General Fr Philip Marshall at 10am on

an outback nurse and
landscape photographer, their intrigue with
the ‘Biblical Song of Songs’ and the impact
of the Aboriginal Stolen Generation on their
relationship. The novel won the CALEB prize for
an unpublished manuscript.
In 2014, Susanne, a nurse and mother of four,
created a 10-minute daily reflection for people
with busy lives.
