Inspired by Pope Francis' call to reach out to
wounded families, the Teams Movement in South
Australia has chosen "Woundedness and the
healing power of sharing" as the topic for its
annual gathering day on June 5.
Monsignor John Swann will explore Pope
Francis’ call in late 2015 to the International
Teams Movement, in which he challenged Teams
in the Year of Mercy to reach out to wounded

Fr Maurice Shinnick, Croydon Park parish
priest, said the advertisements had created
considerable interest and 14 people had come to
St Margaret Mary’s Church to chat about issues
and concerns. Some of the conversations had
been “quite lengthy”.
He said the initiative was in response to Pope
Francis’ call for the Church to “go out to the
peripheries” in the Year of Mercy.
“We opened our doors and invited Catholics and
non-Catholics to come into churches,” he said.
“We wanted them to know we are here to listen.”
