Who wrote the Acts of the Apostle? What happened on the
day of Pentecost? After Jesus rose from the dead, how long
did he remain on earth before ascending to Heaven?
These are just a few of the questions that might be asked
when the St Alphonsa Syro-Malabar Mission Adelaide
hold the El-roi Bible Fest on June 17. (El-roi is one of the
Hebrew names for God meaning ‘God who sees’.)
The first of its kind in Adelaide – it will be a time for all
Christian communities to come together to celebrate the
Bible in an ecumenical event.
The Mission’s chaplain, Fr Fredy Eluvathingal, said the
“grand Bible quiz” would include the latest multimedia
techniques, with the winner receiving $3000 prize money.
“There will be lots of biblical music, dance, skits, Bible
paintings and other artwork,” he said.
“It’s an exciting family event for people of all ages and
communities in Adelaide to come together and celebrate
the biblical patrimony.”
Dubbed the “biggest Bible event in Adelaide”, it will
feature traditional south Indian cuisine at a nominal price.
The quiz will be held from 3.30pm to 7.30pm at the
Christian Family Centre, 185 Frederick Rd, Seaton.
